Hi, I’m Gay Merrill.
Before Merriment Studio, I spent over two decades designing learning experiences and helping people communicate more clearly.
Today, I combine those skills with my love of humor and cartoon drawing to create playful products that invite people to laugh, connect, and see everyday life a little differently.

How It All Began
In 2008, a long-time friend turned psychic planted a seed with a reading…
“Your purpose in life is to make people laugh”, she predicted. (Seriously.)
The idea stuck, and so began my quest to better understand humor. I read books, dug into the research, and took improv, stand-up comedy, and humor-writing courses.
Eventually I wrote The Content Writer’s Guide to Humor to share practical techniques I found to punch up your writing.
Humor had always been a big part of my life. The more I immersed myself in it and discovered the positive impact it can have, the more I wanted to help others experience those benefits.
And that’s how Merriment Studio began.
